The Beginning of Our Posts...
For our first unit we will be exploring areas of natural science. On this post we have included all of our first Feeders (papers leading up to our final paper). For this assignment we had to select an article that interested us from the journal Nature. Two of the people in our group happened to write on the same article, but provide different styles. Enjoy and please comment, as this will help us create a better final product! Thanks!

About Us

Hi, and welcome to our blog! My name is Brittany McPherson and I am a 19 year old freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill. Right now I am working towards a pharmacy major, and while this decision may change I am positive I will pursue a career in the medical field. In my spare time I enjoy working out at the gym, traveling and just having a good time with friends. Our English 102 writing group is working hard to make this blog a success so I hope you all enjoy! Feel free to leave us feedback.

Our group feels as if our target audience is directed towards college students like us, who are trying to establish their sense and style for writing. Our papers and comments will all be part of a learning process for us, as we explore blogging and developing our papers by forming direct opinions. For our English 102 class we are required to complete three units. Unit 1 involves the natural sciences, where we are required to use facts to form our own opinions about controversy. Unit 2 is based on psychology. We will do a type of case study on ourselves where we conduct a behavior modification experiment (for example, not cursing). Our group feels as if this will be the most interesting and fun unit because we are all intrigued as to how this will go for one another. Unit 3 involves the humanities, where we will study visual arts and extracting our own opinions about interpretation.
The group wants our tone and style to be more informal by using everyday events and occurrences to relate our audience. We want to share experiences through our writing to make it easier to relate to our styles. By opening up our writing to everyone, we are hopeful that we receive feedback that will improve our technique. We want people to enjoy our writing, as well as, to take something from it. One of our group goals focuses on communication,
Hope you enjoy our various writing styles and we encourage positive feedback!
